Estonian Music Sounds in Poland from 12th to 14th of October, 2008

Estonian Music in Poland Estonian Embassy in Warsaw in co-operation with Estonian Honorary Consulates in Poznan and Cracow is organizing a concert-tour of Estonian musicians. Poland will host 125 Estonian musicians: an orchestra Collegium Consonante, two boys choirs, soloist Taniel Kirikal and conducter Lehari Kaustel. Free of charge concerts will be held in churches and are open to the public.

Concerts will take place:

On Sunday, October 12, 2008 @ 19.00 in Poznan in the church Wszystkich Świętych, ul. Grobla 1

On Monday, October 13, 2008 @ 19.00 in Crakow in the church Świętej Katarzyny Aleksandryjskiej, ul. Augustiańska 7

On Tuesday, October 14, 2008 @ 19.00 in Warsaw in the church Ewangelicko-Augsburskim Św. Trójcy, pl. Małachowskiego 1

Program includes work of Estonian composers: Lepo Sumera "Musica profana" written in 1997 and Urmas Sisask "Missa nr 5 "Chateau Rocher" written in 2008. Concert will be opened with a short musical piece by Lepo Sumera, which is conservative and suits perfectly church acustics. Main part of the concert includes "Missa nr 5" with subtitle "Chateau Rocher" and this is a world premiere of "Missa nr 5" outside Estonia. As this year Estonia is celebrating her 90th anniversary "Missa nr 5" has been dedicated to the people of Estonia.
