21.04.2009

On 21st of April 2009 at 17.00 - 23.00 Estonian film "Ars Longa" will be screened during the International Film Festival "Tranzyt" www.kinotranzyt.pl at the Academical Centrum of Culture Eskulap, http://www.eskulap.art.pl/kontakt.html, address: ul. Przybyszewskiego 39, 60-356 Poznan.

Estonian documentary "Ars Longa" gives a view to the bizarre world of a 32-year-old performance-artist Sandra Jõgeva. Sandra is a rebel both in life and art. She uses all her experience in her projects going to the extremes on both ends. She is obsessed with exploring an alternative view to every aspect of life. She must always be unpredictable. She wants to shake the very bases of human existence. Next to Sandra's hectic life, performances and statements we follow a harmonic still-life as if taking place in a different space-time, the life of Sandra's parents - Malle Leis and Villu Jõgeva, for whom being an artist an putting up exhibitions is a normal age-old way of life, even a routine. For Sandra, every new performance is a matter of life and death - either a triumph or a fiasco.
